Super Run 10K & 5K Run/Walk     Feb. 2 Kick off the Super Bowl with some exercise before you sit down to watch the game. Choose between a 10K to Crown Point or a 5K along South Shores and Fiesta Island.  Proceeds create water wells for people in Africa. 7:30-10am. The fairgrounds come alive, and so can you, using glow sticks, LEDs and whatever else your imagination can conjure up. www.electricrun.com   Red Trolley Classic Criterium     Feb. 3 Amateur and professional cyclists from SDSU and Crank Cycling compete for prizes. These fast-paced cyclists will ride a 7-mile course on surface streets in Sorrento Valley. All corners turn right with a small rolling hill into the finish. 7am-5:30pm. The scenic loop will begin at Moonlight Beach, pass under the famous Cardiff Kook along the 101, rise above some of the most popular surf breaks in San Diego and then make its way down to Cardiff State Beach. 7:30am. www.cardiffkookrun.com  San Diego Jewish Film Festival     Feb. 7-17 This year our films explore many facets of contemporary Jewish life, the arts, history, politics, and personalities. Choose between a 5K Run, 10K Run, or a Half Marathon. The event location travels along the Tecolote shoreline of East Mission Bay and the roadway around Fiesta Island. 7am-12pm. (408) 314-1718 / www.mermaidseries.com Brazil Carnival Mardi Gras     Feb. 9 "Spectacular Samba Show" featuring dancers in glittering costumes adorned in sequins, beads and feathers accompanied by percussionists playing the authentic Batucada rhythms of Rio de Janeiro. 8:30pm. It's a festive event, so put on a fancy mask and mingle. Music, mystical stilt-walkers, jugglers, and more. 5-9pm.
